Help Double e-mail notifications?

I have my gmail account set-up on my phone but apparently it's set-up twice because I get two sets of notifications from two different interfaces.

I know ones coming from the mail icon, which is also MUCH slower at notifying me. But I don't know where the other initializes from.

I'd like to delete the mail icon version and just use the other, but I also what to be able to have a shortcut. Any suggestions?

Dont use the Mail app for Gmail, use the Gmail app only. The gmail app will get your email instantly.

You can certainly remove the Mail shortcut, and add a Gmail shortcut.

No, you WANT to use the GMail app, not the mail app. The gmail app is for gmail, and you will get it instantly. The Mail app is designed for other email accounts.
