Root Double SMS Notifications

I have a Rooted Desire, running Cyanogen rom. I use GoSMS for messaging. My problem is that I get double notifications for everything. Now I know about turning off the notifications in the stock messaging app, everything is unticked in there .. It didn't help. I even froze the stock app .. And I STILL get double notifications .. Any ideas anyone?

In GoSMS, hit menu, then settings, receive settings and put a tick in the disable other message notifications box. Does that work?

I believe GoSMS has an option to silence other ( or just the stock ) Messaging app.
