Downfall to rooting?

Hello Everyone :D,
I just wondering if there are any downfalls to rooting my Prevail? Have there been any issues or anything? I want to root my device but I don't want issues to come along with it.... (who doesnt?) Can anyone enlighten me?

In my experience there has been no downside to rooting the prevail.

I have tried many if not all mods located in the all things root section.

I recommend starting here...

You can always go back to stock if you wish...

There are many pros and cons to any side of any issue. But if you read through the posts, you will be able to make your own decision. And get a better idea of what roms, themes, mods will fit your particular needs.
 
TFroehlich4368, I never had problems or heard of anyone having problems after simply rooting the phone. Most problems occur by not following directions.

It's hard to brick your phone if that is one of your concerns.

No iit won't directlt affect battery life but you can now use apps such as "setcpu" and "juicy defender" correctly.
To uninstall systems (because you now have access to /system/apps) download any of multiple apps such as "root uninstall", "rom toolbox" (I use that one cuz it offers root explorer, app. explorer, underclocking, font changing, etc.)...just don't mix it up with "rom manager" (Never use that!!!).

Alright cool! So I downloaded rom toolbox, what can and can't I remove from the bloat ware? I don't want to mess anything up...
 
there's a thread dedicated to this... honestly, sine ur on stock rom, I would just use common sense and avoid anything with a little sprocket or an android in the icon.
I would also recommend getting ctMod but if you just figured out how to root then I would avoid for a couple weeks.
 
Before we had CWM and Odin, thanks to Hroark, Rooting could be pretty Scary, even though Interdpth and ShabbyPenguin made it just about idiot proof [exhibit A - me)

There have been hiccups from Boost since then, but it is still easy.

It is well worth it!

You have nothing to lose but your chains.

I recommend having an Odin image of your unrooted phone (Froyo or Gingerbread) on your laptop in case you need to take the phone back to Boost for hardware problems. You may never need it, but good to have.

Just flash the unrooted version back to your phone and return it to Boost so they can fix it.

I have heard that some have sent it in rooted and they still fixed it anyway.
