Help Downgrade 2.3 to 2.2

Hello, I have updated my HTC Desire from 2.2 to 2.3 using the link on the HTC websire and it all went well. But now I haven't seen any real advantage of the update apart from decreased battery life and a shocking lack of internal memory left (after installing my basic apps that I use all the time FB, twitter, camera 360) I have about 14/15mb left and the low space icon is constantly on, so I am forever getting rid of apps that wont go to sd card and cche clearing. I just want to get rid of the 2.3 and put it back to 2.2
I have HTC sync on the laptop and a data cable ready to go.
Now how do I do this??/

As far as I know, the only way to downgrade to 2.2 is to use the Revolutionary tool to go S-off, then flash a custom recovery (see the root guide in the All about Root section for recommendations, faq:s and guides), make a nandroid backup (just in case) and then flash the appropriate 2.2 RUU. So, no official way to back out of it.

That's if you want to go back to stock. Instead of the RUU, at this point you might as well flash any other custom ROM that takes your fancy. There are some really good ones out there that are kind to battery life as well as space for applications.

Before you do anything, though, read and reread the faq:s and guides here on this forum. They are fantastic, and the guys who wrote them are going to be around to help you out if you get a little lost along the way.
