Help Downgrade From ICS (Vodafone UK)

MANCBOY1

Lurker
Updated phone with the new ICS update. The battery life has decreased by half, apps crash and the phone gets very hot.

I tried hard reset but the problem persisted.

Anyone got any advice on how I could downgrade to Gingerbread?

Thanks.

Youi will need to download the Vodafone, Gingerbread, firmware from here and flash it to your phone using Odin.

Thanks for the reply. The links on that thread tell me that the files have been removed.

I did put firmware on it I found elsewhere.

Phone Brand: Samsung

Phone Model: GT-I9100

Build Date: 01/01/2012

Android Version: 2.3.5

Type: Branded

PDA: BUKJ3

PHONE (Modem): BUKI1

CSC: VD2KI2

File Name: GT-I9100_VD2_I9100BUKJ3_I9100VD2KI2_I9100BUKI1.7z

This didn't work though. When booting the phone, I get pop ups telling me that apps have stopped unexpectedly. Can't get past the 'Welcome to GT-I9100 screen.

You cannot flash Gingerbread over the top of ICS without doing a Factory Reset and erasing your Internal USB storage first as you are downgrading.

Downgrading to Gingerbread has caused problems in the All Things Root section of the forum, in the past I'm afraid. In some cases the PIT files have had to be flashed to downgrade. It's not as easy as going from Gingerbread to ICS unfortunately, sometimes.

You could always flash a different ICS ROM instead.

If you are unsure of what you are doing, then I would leave it on Vodafone ICS and take it to a Samsung Service Point or Vodafone shop and get them to flash it for you.

I did a factory reset earlier (when ICS was still on it)

Still stuck.
