I been doing alot of testing on downgrading and going from rom to rom and getting back to out of the box refresh. I didnt make this guidebook that will be stated for this but more of giving help on how to downgrade if you dont like kitkat:

1) Make sure your have atleast 60% battery.

2) Follow this guide from step to step and what it will do is downgrade your phone from 24a - 11a.

VERIZON ONLY Revert to stock GUIDE [UPDATED] - xda-developers

3) Last thing when you are done doing this is upgrade to 12a and your set.

I actually did this twice and it worked. This will also get rid of root.
If you want to root for kitkat or any other verison use the guidebook below.

xda-developers - View Single Post - [ROOT] Root your G2 [ATT|VZW|TMO|KT|RGS|BELL|TELUS|OPEN] [Yay!]

Again I am posting this looking for a guidebook on how to go back and never could find one. I am not responsible with any damage you may cause if you dont follow step by steps.

Also I like to thank all the developers who take the time to do the stuff that many of us look forward to do. Roots, roms, and tweaks.

Thanks guys and gals :)

I posted this because I seen and heard alot of people bashing kitkat. This will do the fix. I am back on kitkat. I was testing this to see if its possible to go back. I did it twice to confirm.

It can be either. I did a test on root and one on non root. Worked for me. Just follow steps.

Yeah that's a nice thing about LG...so far anyway. We can downgrade OS versions. Hopefully they keep it that way so once root is achieved it can always be reapplied via downgrade if patched in future releases.

I did the test again just to be sure that without root if it worked, and it does. So yes confirming on my end it works for either root or without root before hand. Once you do this it will take you to 11a like mentioned above and then there will be two updates available. One will be the 12a and the other will be the kitkat. I myself chose kitkat with root so I am back to that again. Good luck guys and gals. :)

Yes this is so true. I love the samsung phones but with the new knox i couldnt deal with that. LG by far is my favorite because of this.

Please post your turnouts for those that did this to downgrade

How do you stop the notification for kit kat?
Stopping notification on "google services framework" does NOT work

If you dont stop them you will get dozens of upgrade notifications a day

It's very easy to root. Download ioroot25. Just Google search it. Before you start program go on your phone go to about phone find where it says build number tap it about 10 times. That will open a secret menu called developers option. Press back key twice. Check debugging mode. Then go back once again and go to security check unknown sources. Connect your phone to computer via USB. Once that is connect open ioroot 25 and follow the steps. If your Verizon set debugging mode onto Ethernet. Takes about 10 minutes to root. Once your root IMHO download titanium back up. Also if order to freeze apps your going to have to buy pro which is a great tool and you can use it on all Google devices.

Well rooting was easy...
to be honest i have no idea what to do after rooting. my phone works fine other then the kit kat notification
I can rebuild an engine, fly airplanes, wire a home theater and build my own computer, ive also had smart phones since they came out but i've never needed/wanted to root one. IT would appear all threads relating to rooting your phone are way past the basics.

And you will have yo buy the pro and then you can freeze the update

Download titanium

Yah, i got titanium too.

I guess i was under the impression you could go under :settings: and access all kinda of other menus, but it apears the root world is controlled by apps... am i correct? so if you wanted to access overclocking your phone, you have to download an app, want to mess with battery, download an app, want to wifi-teather, download and app.

So, i wont bug you with anymore questions other than, speaking of just "freezing" the kit kat update notification, if i buy ti-pro, how would i do that?

Once u buy pro. Click on center icon on main screen scroll down till u find upgrade click on it the press freeze
