Downgrade with a locked bootloader (X1028)

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I just came across this info (credit to dobbs69). I didn't know this was possible.

As rooted users already know, there are Motorola firmware available for download.

Motorola Firmwares

It doesn't mention the X1028 (Verizon prepaid) at the top of the page, but if you scroll down the page, you'll see one for the X1028 (Blur_Version.173.44.20.falcon_cdma.Verizon.en.US).

You should be able to downgrade in bootloader by following the steps mentioned @ [GUIDE] Moto G - Restore stock firmware - xda-developers.

I just thought this might be helpful for the X1028 owners in case 4.4.3 upgrade goes south.

Hey, so I noticed this too! No one talks about the Verizon moto g much, but I was thinking I might try following the xda guide to downgrade to jellybean from kitkat. Have you tried this? I have a locked bootloader, and the guide does say you need an unlocked bootloader, but I have read other reports (like one or two) that used mfastboot to downgrade or restore stock firmware without being unlocked.

No, I haven't since KitKat 4.4.2 seems to be working just fine on my Moto G. I quite like it in fact.

I'm still curious about it though.

Do you have problems with KK? I certainly don't (US GSM), and am happy to be on 4.4.3; 4.4.4 should be on it's way soon too.
It's likely just the ROM, but 4.4.4 has really breathed new life into my G2 so I imagine it would help out the Moto G as well.

No, I don't have problems with kitkat. I just wanted to see if there was a slight performance increase in jellybean, as I've heard other people say. Unfortunately, the Verizon moto g hasn't been updated yet and idk if it'll ever happen... :(

Update: so I went for it, using the guide on xda, and I had the XML.zip file so I used that portion of the guide and used the mfastboot commands except I have a Mac so I did what post #75 says from the guide[GUIDE] Moto G - Restore stock firmware - Post #75 - XDA and it worked great! Now I'm on jellybean! Still have a locked boot loader. The only thing that was a little weird was I had to call Verizon and program my phone again through their automated system because the phone app activation thing was wanting me to create a new Verizon account or something. But no biggie! It seems smooth as can be! And it erased all my data and stuff so I feel like I can stretch out again, not running out of storage space lol! Although I have not installed every app I had previously.
