Root Downgrading from 2.2.2 Question

I had a phone with 2.2.2 on it and went through the process of downgrading back to the stock rom 2.2.1. For some reason it zeroed out my phone(even tho progress reached %100) and i couldn't restore the meid or anything with QXDM either. Luckily Metro was nice enough to give me a new phone and i had to act as if i had no clue what rooting was lol...

I am really cautious about doing this again. any clue on what i might have did wrong?

It just happens sometimes..get qxdm to work it comes in handy.if you can't get it to work download an older version of it..that could have restored your service..also before you do anything write down your min number..will also come in handy..(so you dnt have to call metro for it)if you need any help I've been down the road of getting zeroed out many times..
