also how do get the apps off this site onto my phone ? as id like to get the mpe music app but am not sure how to do it . it would be great if phones actually came with a manual like they used too

See this thread for how to transfer sound files to your phone and use them as ringtones.

Once on your SD card, (Menu >) Personalize > Personalize sound, and select and 'Apply' your choice of sound for each category.

There's a user manual on the SD card of the phone, in the 'User Manual' folder, or you can go here to download it.

You can install apps via Android Market, for which you'll need a Google account, or a site like Appbrain which you can log-in to with a Facebook or Twitter account.

Alternatively, you can download an .apk file (application or widget) to your phone (or transfer it via your PC), and install it with a file manager like ASTRO File Manager or ES File Explorer.

To install non-Android Market apps/widgets you'll need to allow their installation on your phone; Menu > Settings > Applications > Check 'Unknown Sources'. Because this overrides a security feature on your phone, it's advisable to install a good anti-virus/malware product, e.g. Lookout, if you choose to do things this way.
