Help Download mode not seen by PC

pardyou

Lurker
I was trying to unbrick my LG G2 D801 ( videotron) and i have everything running , the kdz , the lg flash tool , etc. The only thing that's missing is the fact that none of my pc are able to detect my phone in download mode.
I can only acces the fastboot mode and my pc detects it.
But that's all that i can do.
I tried uninstalling and installing the drivers but it doesn't work.

Open Device Manager--> "Ports (Com and LPT)"--> LGE AndroidNet for VZW USB Serial Port (COM##). If the COM number is anything other than 41, right click and select Properties--> Port settings tab--> Advanced button--> Select COM41 and hit OK.

Am I understanding you correctly that download mode is absent entirely and it instead defaults to fastboot mode at all times?

If so, are you rooted? And if yes, have you tried to access your custom recovery by using the external keys on the phone?

If you're not rooted and are stuck in fastboot mode only without a bootable phone, you may want to check this out:

[Tool][python] LG Compressed KDZ Extractor | Android | XDA Forum

With that, you can extract the laf and aboot partitions and then fastboot flash those 2 in order to restore download mode. At that point, you can attempt to use the LG Flash Tools software to reflash the phone entirely.

Large kdz's like the ones on the G2 can be problematic for reflashing stock but unless there's a .tot and .bin available for your Videotron 801, you may be stuck with that as your only option.
