Help Download Mode

My samsung captivate is pissing me off. I downloaded Kies mini and installed it to my computer like I was supposed to, and I got to the part where I turn my phone off, hold the up and down volume keys and plug in the usb cable to put it into download mode, but it won't go into download mode. What should I do?

did you figure it out. I have been waiting for 20 minutes now all it says is downloading.

yeah mine's done. and i'm not sure what it did, it did it by itself. but it shouldn't be downloading for that long.

It took me a few tries but it finally resurrected my phone back from the dead! LOL

I dont know what made me try again but 3rd time was the charm.

did you figure it out. I have been waiting for 20 minutes now all it says is downloading.

If you're on the step where you're getting the drivers, you just need to wait until the computer is done and then disconnect it and pull the battery.

Ok, so we've seen download sessions lasting in excess of 1.2 hours? I'm currently trying to sit through it now myself....

Is there supposed to be something on the computer screen when this 2 button download is happening? Nothing on mine. Just phone with Downloading screen. Been about 15 minutes. I see no download activity on my PC. Any advice?
