Download only unread emails?

Greetings,

Unrooted here. I've been looking for a way to have the default email app only download unread messages from Hotmail/GMail. Any clues?

I know I should probably clean up my inboxes to archive the old stuff, but it's pretty darn annoying to see the same messages download over and over again.

Mine only downloads new email... not sure why yours would be downloading already read emails. =/

What are saying these emails for free web based accounts store the emails on their end,if you are using a client like outlook then the email is downloaded to the storage on the user end,if you leave read email in your inbox it is going to stay there unless yahoo gmail have a policy that cleans read inbox mail after so long, in that case you put them in a folder.
