Root Download stuff through Market or ROM Manager?

Ok, so I've successfully rooted, and I'm running CM7. Now my question is ROM Manager, namely these three questions:

1. Superuser and Cerberus; these are both available on the Market as well. Is there a reason that I should download them with ROM Manager? Do they have more features, run better, anything like that?

2. Full ROMs vs add-ons? How do I know which is which? I'd like to check out some of the stuff on the ROM Manger list, but I don't want to lose CM7 and have reinstall and re-set everything up.

3. OK, this one isn't really specific to ROM Manger... I have Titanium Backup(Paid version), and I back everything up there. I also run a backup before flashing. If I understand everything right, then settings and everything should be saved, but I still have to spend a couple of hours reconfiguring my apps, such as ADW or SPB Shell, depending on which launcher I decide to use. Also I have to set Moxier mail up from scratch, and so on. Am I doing something wrong here, or is this normal for flashing?

Thanks,

Mike Wells

Going to keep this kind of short because I'm posting from my phone, but

1) superuser is already on your phone, no need to install it unless it needs updating (rarely, if ever). I don't know what Cerberus is.

2) Full roms are always rather large files 500mb and up, ad-ons will be significantly less ~1mb - 10mb, and is usually pretty clear that it's just an ad-on or patch.

Right on. Thanks for the tips, that helps. I DID find out something about Cerberus, and why it's in with the ROMs as well as in the Market. The Dev answered the same question on another site:

"Cerberus has additional features if you integrate it into the rom. It cannot be uninstalled (I mean, it can only be deleted by flashing a new rom or using adb/terminal emulator, but I don't think a lot of thieves know how to do that), and GPS is automatically enabled when you send a "Start tracking" command. So on the website there is a flashable zip for easy installation in /system/app.
A user, who also maintains the ROM Manager repository, told me if I wanted to publish it there too, so integration into the rom would be even easier. Of course I said "Sure, that'd be great"

As for what it is, it's a very good security app. It lets you doo al kinds of stuff if your phone gets stolen, including turn on the GPS, even if it's disabled and take pictures of users if you have a forward facing camera. It also doesn't show up as 'installed', so they won't know it's there, as well as the part mentioned by the Dev about only being able to be removed if you flash the p[hone. Add it to your favorite Anti-Virus, and you are pretty secure.

Thanks again for the tips, I'll check out the Titanium Backup link now.
