Root Download Unsuccessful in browser - 2.2, just rooted/deodexed

Just rooted and deodexed a friends droid x on 2.2. Everything works fine, but we can't download ANY files in the browser. It instantly says "download unsuccessful". No matter what it is or where its from. We've tried doing"fix permissions"in don manager, soft reboot, no results. Does anyone have ANY idea what's causing this?

Oh and this was not an issue before rooting...

Apparently its only some downloads.for example, nextheme fails to download, but we can download bootstrap from koush's website...

It works on my x but not his.it seems most websites result in the error... Any ideas?
