Help Downloaded files dont show in gallery

Whenever I try to download a picture I can find it in the file manager but I can't find it in the gallery. I don't know what to do to fix this when I restart the phone the images and the download folder will appear in the gallery but any new ones added will have to restart the phone for them to appear.

My LG G5 does the same thing.
I don't think all Android phones behave in this way,but,IIRC,all my previous LG phones did this.
Most of the time,it's not a big deal for me,but,it is a PITA at times......

I totally agree. I should have mentioned im on a G2

I'm not seeing rescan as an option on the LG G5 stock gallery app,nor in the stock file manager.
Guessing it's similar on the OP's G2.................

Install 'KK Gallery' and I think your problems will go away.

THX,this seems to have done the trick,& then some:
The stock gallery app now "sees" both d/l pix & new camera pix w/o having to re-boot,since I installed the GALLERY KK app.
Strange,but,I'll take it,don't hafta understand it to like it.....................
