Root Downloader mode NOT WORKING !!! :(

So i was playing around in my system apps folder, and i thought i had nothing to risk because this phone has downloader mode on it.


Well unfortunately , some of the newer shipped connect 4gs have a problem with downloaded mode.

Seems most of the "newer" 4g connects are doing this.

Infact, it confirms the version is Zv8

and will NOT update to Zv9

Anyone know how to force an update with lgnpst or where to get a dll for this phone for lgnpst?

Ive forced updates on my esteem with lgnpst , but this phone is so new , there is not much info on it.


Anyone know how to bypass this, and force an update in down loader mode?
 
Unless I completely missed something, the only thing that the update does is to disable the built in wifi tethering. There is nothing beneficial in it that I have heard about. Most people are trying to prevent automatic updates.
 
Oh on my guide post I wrote about this the only way you can do the downloader restore is if you u have another connect or a friend who has a connect capable of doing this. You use your friends connect and let the updater tool start downloading the update and while its downloading just put your connect in download mode and connect it and wait for the download to finish and it will restore your connect with all bloats and everything will reset but u will still have ur data apps etc.
 
Could you do this on a virtual machine for me and suspend the virtual machine right when the download starts, and send me a copy of the virtual machine?

Because i dont know anyone that has a connect i can use XD

If you can do this for me man, i would be soooooooooooo grateful

Google Vm Player , download and install it

Find a mini Version of windows xp

And upload a copy of the suspended virtual machine

Or freeze it right when the download finishes, just in case the download does not support resume.

When you say the update fails, do you mean when OTA says there's an update, or using the LG Mobile support tool?
 
I second the idea for putting up a suspended virtual machine! I would appreciate it if someone can do us this huge favor!
 
come on guys it will only take a sec XD

Just install tiny xp
should only be around 100mbs

than install the ms840 drivers and put your phone in downloader mode

Start the lg mobile tools update

Start the update process and once it starts downloading, suspend the virtual machine.

And upload for us XD

Iam out a 300 dollar phone till someone can do this
 
I have a friend whose connect is capable of the reset trick will try to do this soon as possible and upload the image
 
Man that would be great, i would really appreciate it.

It will work btw , it works with the esteem the same way.

And 2 people on these forums confirmed it to me.

You just have to trick the lg updater tool
