Downloading Apps to SD...

I would like to download Apps to SD... It is all well and good having the option to move apps to SD, but how do you download the app in the first place if your phone memory is full???

Bit of a Catch 22?

 :(

But why is this not an option anyway?

I thought Android would be far more flexible than Nokia - It does not seem right you have to hack your phone to do a simple thing ??

I dont want to root my phone, it is still under warranty.

I have about 3gig of a space on my SD Card, loadsa a room for apps, but no room on my Phone Memory to download, install and move to SD lolz.

Although that works it's not the best solution

To the OP, what software version are you on at present? Go to Settings>About phone>Software information and post up the Software Version

Chances are there is an RUU available which can be used to restore the phone to stock from rooted for warranty issues should they arise
I know it's not ideal but he clearly said he didn't want to root his phone, that's why I suggested the other alternative. ;)

Android: 2.2

Software Number: 2.14.207.2

Ah. It was so long ago when I had o2 branding, I dont think I ever looked at the software build.

the build worked fine. Unlike Orange uk for example, there were no issues I had where the branding of the rom interfered with the Android base.

However, my main gripe was waiting for updates.

Their 'test server' on Shipped-ROMs seems to download OK, albeit slow - I'll mirror it tonight anyway

Have you got a link to your mirror for the 2.29.405.5 please? or would it just be easier to search your posts?

If you are running 2.2 you don't need to root or install another app to move an app (assuming that it will allow it) to SD card.
