Help Downloading files

Newbie question. Why download zip files to pc then copy to device for flashing instead of direct download to device sd card. Especially if not unzipping before flashing?

You can download zips on the device itself including firmware updates, that's what I often do, after all there may not be a PC available.

You sound completely like me lol PCs despise me!!
I've always wondered why rom threads etc tell you to download to PC and transfer to phone. I've always just used my phone browser (dont even own a PC or Mac)
