Downloading mp3

I downloaded a mp3 to my phone and it is in my downloads but I can't access it to use it as a notification. On my incredible 2 I was able to save the MP3 to my music folder. Then I was able to pick that MP3 for my text notification. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Had the same problem installed sound profile and set the ringtone from the folder on the profile and the profile failed but it did what I need and allowed me to select it from my settings and once I changed it in settings it worked

Thanks! Was your mp3 in the downloads? I installed sound profile but don't know how to find the mp3.
