Root Downloads folder shows nothing

The standard downloads folder in my app drawer doesn't show anything at all, even though I have downloaded many attachments from emails. I can navigate to them through the "root browser" in my ROM but it takes too long and is cumbersome. Is there a way to remap the place the downloads folder is drawing from? OR is there a way to get the downloads from my email to go into that folder? Currently my downloads folder is located at /sdcard/download

I am running Liberty v2.0 if that helps anyone help me.

anyone???? Its not a big deal, but is kinda annoying to go hunting around 3 folder levels deep in an app rather than a single tap on my app drawer to do the same thing.

The downloads app? I've never seen it work.
There is no way to remap download location for the stock gmail app our the downloads app. Maybe a 3rd party app will help.

And had to pay $3.99 for the root explorer app on the market and it cleared it up. It works fine on the MIUI 4.0.3 ROM now though.

Well, I figured it out. I can use Kingsoft office and it browses the downloads folder by default! And it was free!
