Help downloads

There should still be a symbolic link to a path called "/sdcard" and from there you should be able to see the "Download" folder.

This is Google's way of allowing apps that used to refer to what were originally true external mini- or micro-SD cards to still identify a working storage location that legacy apps might place files and directories.

That /sdcard symlink could point to a wide variety of places depending on which Android device and version you have.

On my N6P, it points to /storage/self/primary. On my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it was /data/media. And so on.

Thanks Scary alien. I didn't really understand that as I don't think I've got a file manager app ( not very it experienced!!!!), but I've now found a tools link and that has download history in it.

Hmm We are talking about Galaxy S6? I have an Edge but its the same device running 5.1.1. If you open up apps there are 3 folders on the first page namely Google, MS and Tools. My files is in the tools folder. Perhaps I wasn't clear as I missed mentioning the folders in my reply.

Ah, no, @Pugs1957, sorry ...I was trying to be generic w/regard to finding the Download folder on a device...I've got a Nexus 6P at the moment.

All my 5.x devices have been upgraded to 6.x at the moment, so you're probably better off addressing @Dominicana's S6-specific device (sorry to have muddied the waters here :p).

Cheers!

All my Samsung devices have had a download app. All downloads can be found there till you delete them. This is what it looks like on my Moto X but you should have one similar. Easy way to find them

Ah, crap! I do indeed have a "Downloads" app! (but simply from the app drawer)

  :p

I know I've seen that before but I honestly don't think I've ever used it...(I usually have an adb shell handy and traverse things manually).

Good catch guys!
