Downside to purchasing through Wirefly?

Ok now I am very very mad at Wirefly and Ari if you read this please help me as well as others alike that may be going through the same problem. First off Id like to say that I understand there is a shortage for this phone, nationwide and its not Wirefly's fault that their inventory cannot deliver the phones to people whom have purchased them; however their REPS should not be making false statements assuring that phones are in stock and that they will ship within 24 hours! I received notice that my order was approved by Sprint and I have proof through email notifications sent by Wirefly, stating this, I speak to a livechat agent just to get some reassurance that this is good news and I should be expecting my phone soon. Now from day one I've been given the run around by the reps and I hate how they all repeat the same sentence word for word and they avoid your question when you tell them that other reps via phone and live chat have guaranteed that phones just came in stock and were about to be delivered. Well four hours pass by after I posted the info regarding my phone status changing; I check my email and my order was unprocessed due to an outstanding balance... I just paid my bill so I dont know how this is possible and this notification came after the notification which said I was APPROVED BY SPRINT TO PROCESS AND AUTHORIZE MY NEW PHONE, so I called Sprint they advised me that my balance was $0.00! and I had a pending balance of $15.00 odd dollars, but that would reflect next months bill, I spoke with a live chat agent advised them of this and it turns out that my order was used to fulfill another order... now im back at the status of awaiting inventory.... A shortage is understandable, but switching orders, lying to a customer, sounds to me this is borderline fraud... I do not believe that Wirefly is a fraudulent company however the way they do business sure seems like they are playing with fire and their customer service really isn't all there, they are courteous and respectful however incompetent. Now I'm stuck with a phone that cannot charge after waiting I was looking forward to finally receiving my new phone so that I can actually be getting my money's worth for what I pay monthly on my cell phone bill however that wont be possible becauses Sprint and HTC failed to deliver simple supply and demand, and now Wirefly has to play cats and mouse with its customers, if I were provided with truthful information I would not have been so infuriated right now however because I was lied, I am very disappointed with Wirefly, I will stick around to see what happens because I still believe in the company being legitimate and they offer the best deal I've found thus far, however if I dont see results no later than Saturday maybe Monday then I will definitely cancel my order and look elsewhere, because I cant go any longer with these games and not have a phone.

I understand ur angry... but can you edit your post to add paragraphs.. makes it easier to read.. thanks :)

Yeah, my replacement actually shipped yesterday. Which was the reason for my current phone being deactivated. I guess Wirefly activated the Evo before they shipped it this time?

I'm thinking about canceling my order, I don't think the wait is going to be worth the extra dollars saved. Anybody know of any other places that offer it below $200?

Now it's official, I HATE WIREFLY!!!! I sent them and email yesterday in regards to telling me phone was in and would ship within 24 hours and the response I got was the same canned response "Unfortunately the Evo is out of stock. Because of the overwhelming demand for this phone there is a nationwide supply shortage...."

So far, I am still hanging in and hoping that I will get my evo from wirefly soon. I passed up two opportunities to get a phone from sprint, (last friday and wednesday) due to sprint being almost $40 more expensive ($10 + San Antonio Taxes on $299) and having to deal with mail in rebate. However, the experience has been a little frustrating with wirefly and starting to wonder if I should have gotten the phone when I had the chance from sprint. There are a couple of things that I wish wirefly would do in order to ease some frustrations.

1. Figure out some way to tell where a person is on the queue for a evo. It would be nice to know if I am #250 or #3. That way, I don't have my hopes up about getting a phone on the next shipment if I am far down on the list.

2. Don't change my status from awaiting inventory if there is not a phone with my name on it. It was very disappointing to see my status change, contact wirefly to confirm and be told that phones were in stock and I should have one shipped within 24 hours. Only to discover later that day, that my status changed back to awaiting inventory. Saying WTF!!! Contacting wirefly to get the lame response of "Unfortunately the Evo is out of stock. Because of the overwhelming demand for this phone there is a nationwide supply shortage...." like SilverAce stated. If there is not a phone with my name on it, please don't change my status or give me hope, then throw away that excitement like a used napkin..

That being said, if I don't get the phone by the end of next week, then I will be taking my business elsewhere even if I have to pay the extra money and deal with the mail in rebate.

Maybe we should start our own site list of who is waiting and when they ordered. I will start..

1. side0ut - ordered/approved Jun 9th (awaiting inventory)

1. That would be nice, but it would never happen. It would hurt their sales too much. If you knew you were #250, you'd be more inclined to cancel your order.

2. Nothing pisses me off more than the canned responses (well getting told my phone was coming and then getting put back on the waiting list pisses me off more). I don't know how much longer I can wait. I've already passed on an opportunity to get one at Best Buy.

Well looks like wirefly has changed my order to processing/ edit: credit approved status as of 6/18, and i spoke to a livechat rep and this was our conversation,
Jacintha : Thank you for the verification.
Jacintha : Please give me 2 minutes to review your order information.
Steven *****: ok
Jacintha : Thanks for holding, I do appreciate your patience.
Jacintha : I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
Jacintha : We have HTC EVO 4G phone in stock for you order.
Jacintha : I will escalate this order to our activation team and in 12 hours this phone will be activated and in 24 hours it will be shipped from our side.
Jacintha : Once your package is shipped, you will receive an e-mail stating your shipper tracking number and estimated delivery date for your package.
Jacintha : Could you please provide me your Sprint account PIN?

and then the rep tried to sell me their protection plan so I dont know if I should get my hopes up this time or if its going to be another run around.. we'll have to wait and see, hopefully Wirefly delivers!

I ordered mine the night of the 10th, family plan 1500, along with a BB Curve, which shipped and activated the 11th. I was charged activation for both phones by sprint as a new customer, I've heard a couple of new customers did not get charged for activation, now I think sprint or wirefly should at least offer some of us to waive that fee I'm not sure who controls that pretty sure its sprint anyway, still waiting for my evo which I am willing to wait for and totally understand the shortage, but there's been no offer from wirefly or sprint to make up for the wait. I'm still going to end up paying bill plus activation fees for a phone that I don't even have yet. I'm willing to wait as long as we get some kind of compensation for it, but if I'm still waiting after next Sunday, forget it.

Also I agree it would be nice to have like a queue #, I tried asking a chat associate today, and like others they only gave me the run around and I think they actually did a copy and paste of the same e-mail we all got, but edited some of the sentences out, because I've never seen 3 paragraphs be typed out in 10 seconds.

Im going to put this in caps so its catches everyones attention.
FYI: TO GET YOUR ACTIVATION FEE WAIVED, CALL SPRINT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ADVISE THEM THAT YOU ORDERED ONLINE THROUGH ANOTHER COMPANY AND A REP SHOULD WAIVE THE FEE FOR YOU UNLESS THEY ARE HAVING A BAD DAY, IF THEY TELL YOU NO THEY ARE LYING TO YOU! CALL BACK AND TALK TO ANOTHER REP IF THAT HAPPENS. THEY COULD ONLY WAIVE IT IF THE FEE IS POSTED ON YOUR ACCOUNT, SO THAT WOULD MOST LIKELY BE WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR NEW PHONE. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE HOPE SPRINT AND HTC CAN START STOCKING UP FAST TO MEET EVERYBODYS ORDERS.

Well it seems Wirefly has come through my phone is on its way and will be expected on the 21st however I find that kind of odd because they told me they gave me free overnight and I know that Fed Ex still delivers on Saturdays so that is kind of awkward that overnight takes three days, however I cant complain its finally on its way!

I'm going to call hopefully they waive both. Thanks!!

happy for you Jekyl, I ordered and approved on 6/9 yet I'm still approved-awaiting inventory. If you really ordered on 6/11 then there is some inconsistency with wirefly.

I orderd 2 evo's on 6/6 approved on 6/7. This is ridiculous. I've been watching this thread hopping to get some info on my expectant delivery date because I get no information from Wirefly. I'm cancelling my order. Some of you guys are moving up in the queue. Well if there really is a queue that is.

Sorry to see others are having a poor experience with wirefly. I am usually up until 3 am everyday so I was able to place my order at midnight on the day of release. I received my evo the following Tuesday and had everything working within a few minutes of the unboxing.

I thought they would run out relatively fast since they, along with many other retailers, were backordered on Incredible for a few weeks, but I did not think they would sell out as fast as some of you guys here are claiming.

Well everybody who's waiting for you evos, good luck and I hope the evo fairy delivers some new evos to wirefly soon. I however got tired of waiting and got lucky. Today, I was checking radioshack and best buy trying to find any evos here in San Antonio but they were out. The guy next to me at the best buy told me he just got his evo and there were two left at the sprint store nearby so my wife and I rushed over. They still had two at the store, so I got one. The $325 out the door price was a little painful but hopefully I will get my rebate back soon and only be $35 more than wirefly. At least I don't have to keep getting frustrated with the "awaiting inventory" status message anymore. So I guess it is worth the extra $35 dollars and having to deal with the mail in rebate. The evo is pretty awesome. Already unrevoked and using the wireless tether to post this. Wish everyone the best.

Hi JeKyL, I'm happy to see your EVO shipped. I did want to note that only FedEx ground delivers on Saturdays. Thanks again for your patience and choosing Wirefly, and please let us know if we can do anything to be of further assistance.

Thanks for your response Ari, well if it helps anyone I would contact wirefly reps everyday and complain and the play the "im gonna pursue litigation for fraud" trick, just a suggestion... its worked for some people

^^^This is just petty and childish.

As for me, I'm canceling my order on Monday if my status doesn't change. I was hoping that they would reach their 2 week estimate but unfortunately, it's not going to happen. I ordered on the 7th and my status is still awaiting inventory. If I could wait longer, I would but I can't because I'm moving next week. I think wirefly was just overwhelmed by the shear volume of orders. Not really their fault and I was willing to wait for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I can't get stuck in a situation where the cell phone gets mailed to a former address. Good luck to the rest of ya. Thanks to the wirefly reps for all the constant feedback.

Let me start by saying that I am anxious to get my order as well (which is why I've been following this forum to see updates), and went to 2 Sprint stores to try to get it before placing my order with WireFly. I was compelled to make an account because I think your posts are incredibly obnoxious, and because WireFly has been very clear to me on the phone and also clear in this forum about the stock issues.

Because EVOs are out of stock everywhere, and because they told me on the phone they send out orders by the order of which Sprint approves you does not equate to fraud.

They don't have to be in this forum responding to you. If I were WireFly, I would have canceled your order for you before you could just so I wouldn't have to deal with you.

I just posted it as a suggestions and yes it is pretty childish and unnecessary, however I personally did not do it myself, but I know of people that have done it and it worked for them, as for me getting my phone early it was shear luck and patience which I recommend a lot of you to consider because it seems the phones are out of stock everywhere and this is not something that is unknown, just wait patiently and they will come around, Wirefly has been good to me and is a big money saver, I got free shipping, $50 cashback from bing, and a bluetooth headset all on top of a discounted price of 189.99, by the way no sales tax as well. So if you do want to fork out the 300-400 dollars, be my guest I really dont see the point unless you absolutely need a phone, like in my situation my phone would not hold a charge and it wasnt a battery issue so I had no option, but to get a new phone. Well good luck to everyone

ordered my evo on 6/6/10, wirefly shipped my ph on 6/17/10 and rcvd my ph on 6/18/10 and the ph was ported around 11pm on 6/18 eastern

how many weeks have you guys been under shipping...i'm rolling onto week 2, but according to wirefly shipping only means its being prepared for shipping. I wish wirefly would state more accurately when/whether or not I'll be receiving my phone soon. Tried customer support and they transferred me twice and they both told me the same crap about being understocked and nobody having the phone. It would be nice to have an actual/ball park figure of when I'll be receiving my phone rather than....shipping.

So you because you ordered through a 3rd party you should get your act fee waived? thanks
