I have tried several different upgrade combos, but I cant get faster than 8.8 without going into level 7. What did you upgrade?

Unfortunately lvl 7 (1/4) @ 8.57x isn't very impressive in my eyes, cause people are going down below 8.3xx these days. That is if you're aiming for 5000 rating of course. If not - then it's obviously a good one to use if you race for more respect points.

With a Rosso? This one is tuned for 1/2 mile and still puts up a respectable 1/4 mile number... i'm sure other vehicles can do better or maybe even a Rosso tuned for 1/4 mile might be faster no doubt... I just find this a good number for a 1/2 mile car
 
Help on the lvl 7 R8

Using the below spec and I can only get 8.5 I can't get to the 8.3's. Anyone have something different they want to share?

Maxed out my veyron but cant get any lower than 7.260 for 1/4mile its a good time but ive seen a few people gettin 7.255...2nd gear launch for this car is no good, anyone with a 7.25 time want to pm me and share tactics maybe we can both go quicker
 
Um hi...this is probably THE MOST stupidest question anyone has ever asked but...i just started this game yesterday, addicted to it, up to level 4 now and foolishly bought a shelby gt500 to replace my m3 (realised that was idiotic and gonna sell the shelby and get m3 again)...anyways my main question is................what is tuning? i see loads of people online posting tune recommendations and all i see are decimals and percentages and stuff can someone explain to me exactly what all those numbers are?

Hi!
Although my English is not really good, I try it:
When you are in the garage, there is the "upgrade"-button. There you find the button "tune". You have to buy this option and then you can tune your car.
With the right tune, it's much faster than before. When you see the tuning-options, you'll understand the decimals and percentages...

I'm getting bored of trying new setups, because anything other I try is worse than my actual setup...

EDIT:
Just got new personal best with S2k for 1/2 mile : 19,008 sec... :) ...nad got beated by guy with 18.998 sec.....
 
i am wondering what upgrades people have? i currently have a level 9 ultimate aero with almost everything fully upgraded but 0 nitro. whats the best upgrade for upper level cars? should i downgrade some other things so i can get fully upgrade the nitro and stay in level 9?

Ultimate Aero level 9 -- 1/2 mile setup:

Upgrades:
4/5/3/1/5/5
Nitrious 150%
FD: 1.540
1st: 2.950
2nd: 2.498
3rd: 2.200
4th: 1.950
5th: 1.700
6th: 1.500

A 2nd gear launch, shift into 3rd and nos at the same time. Keep (late) perfect shifts.

PS: "2nd gear launch" = hold gas pedal as you drag the finger (without releasing) on top of + (gear up).

Also if you have a lvl 7 R8 1/4 Faster that 8.32 . I see some 8.30's and I can't touch it, been tweaking all week and can't get past 8.319 but my consistant time is 8.32
