Draining Battery First Use

Hi
Just got my hands on a S4 and the lady in the shop told me to run the battery down, then recharge to 100%

Any truth in this, worth it or not?

Not for lithium Ion batteries. Completely draining lithium ion batteries will actually hurt them more than help. These battery dont get a memory like the Nicad batteries do. From what I have read drain them to 20% then recharge

No, it's not true.

As evile84 quite rightly says, fully draining a modern Lithium ion battery can damage it. In any event, we are in the very fortunate position of having removable batteries in our S4s. In the unlikely event that the battery deteriorates significantly in the time you have the phone (which didn't happen with my S2 in two years) then you can buy a new one for about
