dreaded in call echo

i know this is a common problem what i want to know would rooting stop this by putting a third party image on

There are some apps that can be installed on rooted firmwares that solve this issue. CheckROM has an app called Kitchen which has a fix you can install.

cheers for the reply , ive rooted before htc phones but for what ive read the galaxy s2 is different , different carriers etc , can you point me in the right direction im on the three network uk

ok got the idea on rooting can you tell me if you flash the rom same as a htc (recovery menu)

just waiting for jig to be delivered

ok my phones rooted , i bought a jig which got me into download mode but the bloody thing wont remove the yellow exclamation mark

one more question , i put the rom on my sd card , the chose wipe phone/factory reset, then install zip from sd card and chose the rom, my problem is all my apps were still there i thought they would have went with the wipe

Yeah your apps should've been deleted when you wiped data. Are you sure you didn't just wipe the cache? Anyway if everything is working fine I wouldn't worry too much about it.
