What bluetooth in car set works best with the s2 or is there a way to use the phone safely whilst driving without bluetooth.

I use the Sony Mex BT3900, spec below

Sony : Specification for MEX-BT3900U | MEX-BT3900U technical specifications
It worked fine with my S2 on Android Gingerbread, S2 lasted a couple of songs then crashed on ICS 4.0.3, now on ICS 4.0.4 it works fine again.
If you don't get it to work on 1 particular set, it might work using a different firmware.
