Droid 1 play Angry birds smooth?

I am a current rooted and overclocked Eris owner running Kaos Froyo 39, and am looking at getting a Droid 1, due to money constraints, but am wondering if the Droid 1 plays angry birds smoothly? The eris is skippy and fragmented, and I am not a fan of that.

Also, I have noticed some specs say a 650MHz processor, and some are a 530MHz processsor, which one is right?

Its the ads that make it laggy. If you play it on airplane mode it works fine. If you're rooted you can use ad free to block the ads but I'm not condoning blocking of ads as its the developers source of income.
 
It runs smooth. As for the clock speed, the stock speed on Froyo 2.2 is currently 600 Mhz. If you root you can increase it.

So you don't think it's okay to block ads quickly, simply, and without restricting yourself, but you think it's okay to stop them from appearing by having to inconvenience yourself by going offline whenever you want to play the game? Give me a break. :rolleyes:
 
Supposedly there's a version of Angry Birds that's Eris-friendly coming out relatively soon.

That said, Angry Birds runs just fine on a Droid 1, unrooted, and in "normal" mode.
 
It runs great on my rooted Droid with LFY 1.96.
I am clocked to 1100 currently however.
SetCPU is set to scale back the processor (to 800 max) when the battery drops below 30%. I can definitely tell a difference when it does that.

I've been considering rooting lately, now that my Droid 1 is over a year old. But with FRG83D there seems to be only one rooting solution, and from what I've read, that's not always a "for sure" thing. And I can't afford to hoze up my phone.
 
Are you buying a Droid from VZW themselves? Or are you renewing a contract?

Even with money constraints, I suggest you check out Free Cell Phones with New Cell Phone Plans - Shop Deals from Wireless Carriers - Wirefly.com .

There are plenty of top-notch phones that are under $100 (I'm just taking a stab at your budget, but $100 is a reasonable price) and some that are even free when you renew for two years.
Let me know if you need more help going that route.

As far as running it on a Droid, yes, it runs flawlessly. Rocket Bunnies seems to be more memory intensive and it too runs without skipping a beat.

Oh yeah, go download Rocket Bunnies, guys. ;)

Nobody has ever done any damage to their OG Droid by rooting.
 
not up for a new phone yet, just have an eris that is about as useful as a doorstop... and even then...

That's just a cover-your-ass-type disclaimer. Honestly, in today's society, every webpage in the universe should have that disclaimer.

Not that I condone doing this if you don't know what you're doing. (see wut i did thar) :)

Cold feet aside, there are tons of extremely saavy Android people here (and on countless other android sites) that can help you if you do run into problems. Do some research, ask questions and give it a try.

You will not be disappointed..
