Droid 1 screen not working!

This morning after checking my email and everything while my phone was plugged in, I unplugged it and the screen went blank. I pulled the battery and restarted and I see it lighting so it's getting power, however it just stays black. I can swipe and it reacts normally, but I still can't see anything. I did some research and was told a factory reset might help. But you need to see to do a reset. Has anyone had this issue and can walk me through it? I know to pull the battery and press power and x at the same time. Then camera and volume down. But I'm supposted to scrool to the factory wipe......I don't know what one is the wipe since I can't see. I havn't dropped my phone or anything, i just want help .

Are you rooted?

If not, try calling Verizon. You probably can get a refurb since the screen seems to have gone out on you.
