Droid 2 Global: no audio equalizer?

Howdy. I just got the brand new Droid 2 Global, trading up (WAY up) from a BlackBerry Tour. The audio settings show "audio effects" that can be enabled, but the only one that works is "effects profile", which is a "sound stage" stereo separation thing. The other two are Surround and Equalizer, but they are grayed out and don't work. The Equalizer is stuck on the Extreme Bass setting. What gives? Why isn't there an actual EQ function on this thing?

Usually when a function is grayed out like that it means that the function is not available in that particular profile. Are there audio profiles available on the phone that you can change?

Another thing to do is to post your issue on the Droid 2 Support forum. Someone there should be able to assist you...
