Root Droid 2 Roms and Themes

Im working with Fission 2.0.2. It runs great and has alot of unwanted apps off of it. It has few bugs and continues to get updates.

And this WILL work with the latest D2 update?

I highly suggest to D2 users that you flash the new 2.3.20 SBF that can be found HERE or update manually with this FILE if you are on stock ROM.

Yes sir. I flashed SBF 2.3.20 and rerooted and had Fission on ASAP

For those using Black Glass, After the OTA to 2.3.20 the theme put my phone in a boot-loop on both attemps . My phone is deodexed and the Black Glass themes is for deodexed phones. I hope it's only a temporary glitch since this theme is my favorite. Thanks 928

Most themes are based on a ROM or 2.2 so be careful you could easily get in a bootloop.

I am basically saying screw the themes until I just see a black bar compatible with the update. Cross compatibility would be nice, but too much to ask for apparently. Not to the fault of devs of course.

Still nothing great, but this means Angdroid and Team Defuse are working on more for the global.

Yeah, I just installed Fission for the first time yesterday and my phone was noticeably faster. Much nicer android experience now.

I've tried a couple of the roms for the D2 and am very happy with Squidly's 2.3.20, for those who are intrested in a fast, stock based rom, this is a good choice. Black notification bar, overclock kernels and the ability to clean out bloatware as needed is great. At stock frequencies its super fast and I'm currently running at 1.3 with no issues. Images show Quadrant benchmarks at stock and 1.3, a job well done by Squidly.

If someone with a Droid 2 wants to take over this thread I will be to make them the op of this thread. I dont mind continuing to maintain it but since I dont have a D2 I dont know much about the roms and themes that are out there without you guys telling me.

D2G has one confirmed and dedicated ROM: Team DeFuse

Now there's a work-around using a program that force feeds the ROM to the phone but it's not very elegant.

You need to wipe data/cache and I would do a factory reset.
