droid 3 problems

what is wrong with my phone....
when I turn it on I cant get it off the swipe screen and when I turn the screen off to see if it will work properly it doesn't turn back on...it receives messages and stuff but it doesn't let me see them. It just is a black screen. Tried taking the battery out and waiting hours before trying again and the same thing happens. what do I do?

I would try going into recovery (You would have to look it up) and clearing out the cache. If that didn't work then I would do a factory reset. If that didn't work then the digitizer is probably dead.
