Droid 3 Running Tab On Rumors

Yeah, I think the corporate stores do that. But if you decide to buy from a place like Costco, you have a 30 day equipment return or exchange policy. The initial 14 days are considered the period where you can return your equipment and also get out of the agreement you signed. They also have a 90 day exchange policy for phones. So after the 30 days is up, if something goes wrong you can still exchange it for the same phone. I heart Costco. lol.

So maybe it's ok to get the Thunderbolt at a store like Costco if you want to take a chance that the Droid 3 would be out within 30 days and you don't plan to cancel your agreement.

I can't wait for this phone.

It was officially announced in China earlier, and it did, in fact have the Tegra II. However, there is still a possibility of that changing between China and US, but it's doubtful.

No runway left to change the device, if releasing in July... Things are not adding up though, since leaked benchmarks had the D3 with an OMAP and BMXXX (correct?- the mystery Moto dev) mentioned in a post it had a TI chipset.

Aint' addin' up I tell ya!

If the D3 had 16gb internal I would consider it. The KB would be handy for game emulators :)

Still, if the Tegra 2- will the D3 have the same low ram issues, audio pops and random reboots?? Like the DX2 has.

If same set-up, the D3 could be the same issue ridden mess the DX2 is, but with smaller display and a keyboard.

Added: Here is a good summary of why I am confused and the pics do not seem to add up (unless Tegra 2 in Asia and not NA). I think the OMAP rather than the Tegra 2 would be better, due to the issues the DX2 has. The key seems NOT to have the low ram issues the DX2 has.

If it is running the same half-ass build of Froyo that the DX2 is running, then likely it will. The problem isn't the hardware, it's the software configuration. With no GB build for the DX2 out yet, it leaves me with little hope that the D3 will come stock with GB if it is indeed running the Tegra 2.

The Droid 3 is running a newer version of Blur that's supposed to be on top of Gingerbread. And every leak and benchmark of the Droid 3 has shown it running an OMAP processor, not a Tegra 2. It seems odd for the Milestone 3 to have the Tegra 2 and the Droid 3 to have the OMAP, but I guess stranger things have happened. Hopefully we'll get an official announcement on the Droid 3 in the next couple of weeks.

The people saying Tegra are basing it on a photo that had a game with the Tegra logo on it, somebody just did a sloppy photoshopping job that's all.

Trust the benchmark data dumps: Droid 3 / Milestone 3 is OMAP4 with 512MB RAM, 4" qHD screen (same screen as Atrix), running Gingerbread with the newest Motoblur.

You are correct. The pics are NOT from a real device and I wish I had previously looked at the pics on a bigger display than my Incredible (I am now- 24").

No biggie for me about having no sd card. I still have the two 16 gb SD cards from my droid 1s. Dang I can't wait for this phone. haha.

With all the rumors of Verizon changing their data plans on the 7th, I'm gonna be buying an X2 next Tuesday so I'm guaranteed a phone that's better than my Ally, while still maintaining unlimited data.

Then I have to hope and pray the D3 actually DOES come out within 14 days of my purchase, and which point I'll swap over to the D3, maintaining the "new" plan I start with the X2. Otherwise, I suppose I'll be a new X2 user. :D

With Verizon turning down all of Moto's Gingerbread builds until the X1 is running stable on it, I'm pretty sure at this point that the D3 will launch with Froyo if it is launching anytime in July.

Verizon dis that to try and get people to buy the newer hardware the spec sheet says gb for d2g will come after the d3 launches.
