Is there anyway to write an app, that will accept input from somewhere besides the lock key for when your screen goes blank. I would like to be able to make my phone wake up by pressing the screen.

Since it's a capacitive touchscreen, I don't think it will work that way. As far as I know, if the screen is off, it will not receive any input, so you can't use the touch function to turn on the screen. There is probably a way, though, to make the camera (or physical keyboard) buttons unlock the phone, and I'm sure someone will do it relatively soon.

There is an app called Awake Stay that does that.

Thanks for the help. Yeah, Screen mode lets me set the camera, and volume keys to awake the phone which is a lot better then how it was before. I do wish there way a way to make it so i just have to tap the screen.
