Help Droid audio max volume kinda low?

Over Macho Grande?
Has anyone noticed this? I have listened on two different sets of headphones, and one set a very high end professional DJ pair. And, while the sound was nice and clear, it never quite got loud enough for my liking.

Anyone else noticing this?

how high end?
if you are that into audio get yourself a portable headphone amp...
Head-Fi.org: Headphones, iPod earphones, portable audio, MP3 players, high-end audio has the info.

then again there is no support for loss-less flac audio yet on the droid either.

Belive me too, I know how loud they should sound. Plugged into an ipod, my computer, just about anything else and they pump out quite a bit more.

It's not the end of the world. It will probably save my ears as I'm sure I listen to music too loud :D But I was wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing.

Edit: I should check the wave actually and be sure they are normalized. It's a start anyways. I think i could possibly batch convert.

now that you mention it, while i have my bose headphone on, it never gets too loud. granted the loudest setting is loud, but the headphones can take more.

listening to pandora... but levels on pandora vary from song to song :(

i haven't really used my "nice" headphones with it yet... now that you mention it... the levels could use a boost all around. this would also help with the levels being a bit low for hooking into my car stereo. hook it in to listen to pandora while driving, that's what i do for the most part.

yeah i was going to suggest normalization... but who wants to boost everything jsut for one device that is too low...
 
wonder if any third party apps offer higher levels?

wouldn't help me much with pandora, but maybe with mp3's
 
Trying a batch convert to a -10db normalize of the average RMS. File 3 of 400 now Hehehe. Guess I'll leave it overnight.
 
I guess I just don't understand the arbitrary line in the sand for this subforum. I mean what are we supposed to talk about in the main forum? How many screen protector threads and curious Blackberry users with a litany of requests can we have? :)

I have noticed that while Max volume for the speaker is quite loud, the max volume with a pair of headphones plugged in isn't all that loud comparatively.
 
haven't had a chance to try the songs yet but should have time tomorrow or the day after. I will definitely report back.
 
Is it just not as loud as usual, or is it incredibly quiet, even with the Droid's speaker? Something like this happened to me, and after resetting/pulling the battery, I finally had to wipe it back to factory settings. This cleared up the problem for me..

The speaker is fine, nice and loud. The audio in the head phones is like 80% of what I would expect kinda. Like I feel like various other devices would play the songs louder.

I'm going to do a comprehensive test over the holiday in between egg nog and naps though, and will report what I find :)
 
Looking for an answer to this one myself. I usually listen to music or watch videos while at the gym, this can be frustrating if someone behind me is pounding out on the treadmill, I can barely hear the audio anymore at max volume.
 
I forgot where I read it and the exact reason and I can't find it for the life of me. So this might not be that useful. I read that the better quality headphones are quieter than cheap quality. I don't remember if it had to do with the drivers, drawing more power, or frequency range or whatever, sorry. But I remember reading that. I know when I had the big over the ear Skullcandy ones the max volume was loud, but not kill your hearing metal band loud like I wanted. (btw skullcandy are cheap plasticy pieces of junk, I don't recomend them at all. The bass sounds cheap bad and synthesized punchy. And they break, cause they're cheap plastic.) I had 20 dollar sony ones that were much louder.

But as for the Droid volume, my Sony MDR-EX36V earbuds volume leave a lot to be desired but sound great and give awesome lows. But my Sony MDR-V6 are pretty damn loud. Maybe you're more deaf than me? Haha.
