droid battery life vs HTC Evo

So I was all for going with Sprint from ATT to get the Evo, but with all the negative reviews of the battery life, I'm thinking about going the verizon Motorola Droid route. As you can tell the battery issue is a huge deal for me, is the Droid's battery life better than the Evo's?

Most Droid users will tell you that we can get through a day on a single charge. Even moreso when you root your phone because you can underclock it when it's sleeping, but that applies to the EVO as well. You should get opinions on how the battery on the EVO is when the phone is rooted.
