DROID Bionic And Accessory Bundle Costco Discussion Thread (Including Q&A from YankeeDudeL)

Looks like I'm on the bubble. 7th person on the list. :( I hope one of them cancels or my costco gets more than six so I can get it today.
 
So-cal checking in for Culver City/Inglewood/Hawthorne stores. None of them had their stock available yet, but did say they'd have more by this weekend.

the guy in brookfield called our guys while we were activating them - fedex got there and they weren't on the truck!!!

So yes I finally walked out of Costco at 12:45 with my Bionic!

of course I'm so friggin late for work I don't have time to play with it.
 
After showing up at store opening and being told no phones in stock until the 13th i got a call back around 11:20 saying they just arrived. Drove back to costco and snagged phone 5 of 6!

Yay, congrats! I got the 6th of 6 at the Costco in Nanuet, NY. I almost missed out, because there was a guy in line in front of me who was turned away because he was trying to activate on his wife's upgrade (I think) but was not the authorized person on the contract. So, it was a bummer for him, but I am a happy - but broke - camper! :-D

I doubt I'm going to get much work done this afternoon... LOL!

Big thanks to Yankee and everyone posting/sharing all the helpful info. Without you all, I'd still be plugging away on my craptastic Blackberry that froze and restarted itself randomly. I'm sure this Bionic baby is going to be much, much, bettah!

Looks like this guy was lying or something..just called the same store back and they told me that they had them this morning, but they sold out immediately. That really sucks since I work 5 mins away and didn't go there because the first guy said they didn't have any. He said more on Saturday though.

Oh wow! That's a bummer. Glad I didn't go to Brookfield! LOL! I know how you feel. I brought mine into the office to charge it up. But I won't have time to play, either.
 
just joined this forum to learn about my new phone.

My Costco had the Droid Bionic IN STOCK, I am SHOCKED. I called at noon, she said they had 2 left and I drove right over. I thought I might have to fight someone for the last phone, hahahha. A guy and I ended up getting the last 2.

I am so glad I decided to call, I had seen so much coverage that said the date was the 13th for Costco. I'm in Illinois, outside of Chicago.

You musta been the tall guy in the business suite ;) i was the 4th one in charleston...the poor guy with the 2 yr old kid lol.

Anyways, charleston,sc was sold out 2 mins after the store opened.
 
I got mine today at the Huntsville, AL Costco. They sold out in less than 2 seconds, it was a foot race to the kiosk because they didn't hand out the numbers at the door but instead handed them out at the Kiosk.
 
Showed up at Corona, CA Costco at opening time. They had no bionics but expected them by 11. I waited and finally got the first one in the store by 11:05. All but one was accounted for by the time I left. The kiosk employees were told to expect 9 more within the next week or so. Also they let a woman trade her charge in for a bionic since she was still under the 90 day window.
 
Well... that was fun (NOT.) Costco would not recognize my early upgrade so I returned my costco membership, drove to the VZW store and bought one. $349 out the door with tax and early upgrade fee. No goodies to go along with it. I was the only person in front of the Costco store at 7AM (they open at 10) At about 9 some other people showed up then this other guy came up and told us all that he was there at 3AM and called the manager who said they were holding all of the three they received for him. The other people left, I called BS on it and waited. Went in, had the box in my hand and then the fool behind the counter could not figure out how to do the early upgrade. At least I have my phone, so the morning was not a total loss!

In the "fools" defense, early upgrades can only be done at corporate wireless stores, and Yankee said that many times in this exact thread.

I had the same problem, wouldnt recognize my early upgrade either. However, since I have 3 other feature phones on my account, the guy was able to work a little magic and get an early upgrade on a feature phone and then apply it to my account. I was $300 out the door at costco and with a nice bag of goodies. I was afraid I was going to have to go the verizon store myself.

FYI here in California, we pay tax at the verizon store on the full retail price of the phone. At 8.75% that is brutal. However, at Costco we only pay tax on the sale price because they are a wholesaler. Another huge benefit to buying at Costco!
 
Got mine in Vegas. They didn't have them in stock around noon but they were taking down names. my girl was able to my name down as number 5out of 6. If she hadn't have been id be at Verizon right now spending more for less.
 
Wooohoo. One of the original six had to leave for work so I took his place. Me happy! I love costco!

Ohhhhh, I was wondering if they were going to be selling it on the website! Cool.

Now, I have to figure out how to work the thing and get some "new clothes" for it, because the case they gave me is dumb and ugly. ;-) But I could not be happier about all the other accessories, particularly the car nav dock thingy. I will be using that a lot, I think. I will probably stay up way too late tonight messing with it, downloading apps and putting music on it. I'm soooo happy I get to keep my unlimited data. That helps.

I really want that laptop dock, but can't justify spending another $300 for it. :-(
