Help Droid Bionic Not Taking a Wall Charge

Howdy folks. I just renewed my contract and tossed aside the Motorola Droid for the Bionic. I had ordered it through Amazon and when it arrived today I popped the battery in and hooked it up to the wall charger to get a full charge...no problems.

Now since I've been playing around with it all day, it had a low battery, so I figured I would plug it into the wall again to give it some extra juice to last the rest of the night before bed. The problem is that it won't take a charge while turned on. This is the exact wall outlet I used earlier and the new charger that came with the Bionic.

While it wouldn't charged when plugged into the wall or the PC, it did work when I turned the Bionic off and plugged it into the wall. Shouldn't the Bionic be charging while turned on? Is there something stupid I'm doing or haven't done with my new phone?

The phone could be doing this to prevent itself from overheating because, heat is bad for any device at all. Heat is a devices worst enemy and not only is it bad for the hardware it can also damage the battery and make the battery weaker and hold a lot less of a charge.

yes you should be able to charge with the phone on while plugged in to the charger. i always leave my bionic on while plugged up. i can't think of any reason why yours wants to be off to charge.

What all is turned on, what the rating of the wall charger?

my 1000MA wall charger doesn't work as well as my 0.7A wall charger when my OV and WiFi is on.

It could be a bad battery that needs to be replaced.

A little Googling came up with ... one person had a similar problem ... he pulled the battery and used a pencil eraser to clean the battery contacts ... this solved the problem for him.
