Help Droid camera problem.

My camera doesn't seem to AF, I keep getting the red little marks on

all for sides and it just beeps twice. One time it did show green, does

everyone else have this problem?
 
It IS set to auto-focus right? If you have the focus set to infinity it will not do any kind of auto-focusing
 
This issue has been widely discussed here so you are not alone. Yesterday I made a series of tests which (hopefully) explain the problem. Do NOT take your phone back if it is otherwise working fine. You'll just get another with the same issue. It will be fixed in the December 11 update. See my tests ***here***

I hope to god that the software fix will work,

because Dec 12th is the end of my 30 day worry free.
 
On the Motorola forums, it seems that folks with older hardware birthdates (38-39 / 09) seemed to ahve less camera problems than later dates (esp 41-42 / 09) - but therre were people in both camps who were stating the exact opposite from what the norm was.

So what would you do, keep the phone or try and change it for a new one?'

(By the way, does yours do this also)
 
My camera has yet to show me green corners, so....

but the hardware is new, and the battery door stays on, and it is obvious that this phone was never out of the box before - so I am going ot keep it and wait for the software update.

Mine is a 42 / 09....

What sucks is, if the update does not fix this camera issue.

Then when your 30 days is up, your stuck with the thing. (Or a refurb)
 
Well, I just got back from VZW. I changed out my Droid for a new one.

And the camera AF's on like 2 try's, and the battery door is better also.

I have to hit the camera button like two times and the I get green corners.

It does have software glitches no doubt, because my Omnia AF's on one

shot. Also there is times the app will just crash, but the lights don't bleed

into the screen as much and my battery door is better, so IMO I have a better build quality on this phone.
