Help Droid Charge Bluetooth Disconnect

I don't know if this is due to the EE4 update or not but my Charge randomly disconnects from my Parrot bluetooth (I have both the MKi 9100 and MINIKIT Slim). I don't seem to have the same problem on my BlueAnt BT devices but Parrot has a much better dialing BT interface. I have googled the subject and it seems that there are random disconnects with other vehicles as well -- e.g. BMW -- recently noted. The Parrot worked flawlessly with my previous Motorola Droid but this is problematic.

Has anyone else seen this?

Does anyone know of a fix?

I have the same issue with the bluetooth disconnecting or sometimes not even being recognized in a 2011 BMW. Please let me know when a solution is found.

Not having disconnect issues, but mine does cut in and out during songs. I am only 2 feet from the device so I know I'm not too far away. Pretty annoying.

Mine does the same thing on a 2010 BMW. It will pair the first time you get in the car for the day, but will not pair again if you get out and back in again unless you want to reboot the phone. I really like this phone, but cannot tolerate this so I have put it aside for now and am using one of my kids phones. Hopefully it will be fixed in a future update.

I had a problem like this with my Plantronics Voyager Pro+. It turned out to be a bad headset that Plantronics replaced under warranty. So far, the new headset is good. If I have more problems, I'll go back to Verizon for a new phone.

I found a supposed fix on other sites that related to BMWs but haven't tried it out.

I was about to return my charge as it was not uploading the phone book and dropping the Bluetooth connection to my 2011 BMW 335Is. I then stumbled upon a partial fix.
Fix for this is counterintuitive. When you start your phone or restart Bluetooth go to Settings>Applications>Running Services. Look for the Service "BluetoothPbapService" tap it, then hit stop. This removes it from the list. The phone pairs and uploads the phone book without problems until you either stop and restart Bluetooth or turn your phone off. You then need to repeat the process. I am looking for a developer who can automate this process with an app without rooting the phone. Hope this helps others with same problem and that Verizon asks Samsung to fix this with the next software update.

Let me know if this works for you. If it works it is a fix, just not very convenient.

Yeah, I experience this from time to time. It's as if the bluetooth streaming process isn't prioritized and gets superseded by other processes. Browsing while streaming via bluetooth can induce it as well, but it'll do it without me using my phone for anything else actively. I do notice that a reboot clears it up, so I think there's some other processes out there that start to tie up resources after awhile. My hope was that a debloated ROM or maybe the Gingerbread update will improve this. My Incredible was rock solid on stco Eclair and Froyo, and Gingerbread (via CM7) streaming music via bluetooth, even when I would browse the web or play games.

Have had the usual complaints of my new Charge either not coupling in my 2011 BMW or disconnecting periodically. I find it seems to hold fairly well if I DON'T TURN OFF THE PHONE. However, if the phone is turned off at night...the next morning it needs to be re-paired. It often just breaks the link for no reason. Understand that Samsung/Verizon/BMW are working on a software fix.

In the meantime I have an (ok...say I'm crazy) absolutely perfect workaround! I kept my last phone (Blackberry Storm) activated as a backup. Still couples and works in the BMW like a charm. When I'm travelling more than a short distance in the car, I just CALL forward from my Charge to the Storm and life as I used to know it continues. The Blackberry is always left in the car.

Now if I could only always remember to UNFORWARD when I leave the car...it'd be a perfect solution.

Otherwise, the Droid is my new best friend!

Hey I also own Droid Charge + MKi9100, trying to troubleshoot same issues (lose pandora stream and voice from google navigation) others are having. Cannot find pattern. At first I was thinking it happened going from 4G to 3G and vice versa.

My MKi9100 has version 1.66.

Link shows the fixes. Trying to decide if i should update the Mki9100, usually it causes more headaches.

What versions do you guys have on MKi9100? Trying to find source of problem

You have an old version -- I have 1.91. I have tried the solution I suggested earlier to stop the process BluetoothPbap and it seemed to solve the problem.

But after several discussions with Parrot, they gave me a procedure that so far seems to solve the problem completely. It is long and not appropriate to post in this response -- is there someway to add an attachment? Otherwise, send me an e-mail direct and I will send you the procedure.
