My Droid Charge randomly restarts throughout the day, sometimes while I'm using it, sometimes while it's just sitting on the table. I've reset it twice this week. After the second reset, I left it alone, no apps, no calendar, no email, nothing. It restarted itself twice with a few hours. Is this what I should expect? This is my first smartphone, so I don't have anything to compare to. Is there anything else I should try?

Mine did the same thing. Look for the stock ee4 odin image thats used to put rooted phones back to stock. Mine was rebooting every day but after I pushed a new image to my phone it has not done it in 2 weeks. Data wipes did not help. If you don't feel comfortable flashing with odin get a replacement. Look on the Charge section at xda for odin and the image. Its really easy to do.

Here is how to use odin.

And this is the file you are going to want to flash in odin.
[ODIN][ROM][EE4][FACTORY] Full factory restore 2.2.1 with radio - unrooted 7/16/11 - xda-developers
At step 13 flash that file instead of the rooted gingerbread leak. After that flash is complete it will wipe your phone and you will have pushed a brand new image of the latest ota update so if anything in /system is corrupted it will now be fixed. Make sure you follow the steps or will can mess up your phone.

Hi, can someone please help me?? I flashed the Humble Rom on my Charge like Thursday night. I seem to be having some unwanted and irritating issues now. My phone has shut off and Rebooted on it's on like two to four times now. It just shut down and Rebooted itself and I got the Welcome screen!?!!! I was in the process of moving my apps to SD and it got sticker or stayed on "Moving" for the longest and then it just Rebooted. It's done that before buy never Rebooted to that screen. I had just got done sending texts and receiving em like 10/15 minutes prior and no issue. I did a Factory Reset on my own like on Friday cause some issues were happening after having Flashed the Humble Rom just the night before. Even though I noticed an improvement in the battery life right from start, it stopped being fast and started lagging again. It would automatically be set on Silent when I'd restart it..:-(
just curious for those people having restarting issues, have you updated the My Verizon app or the data widget? After I had done that it would reboot my phone...alot. See the post "My verizon app ruining my phone". I ended up getting a replacement.

Crud....mine just rebooted while I was checking to make sure all my apps were moved to SD.....at 0005 hours (about 5 hours after re flashing)
It is now 0936 and no more reboots....I did get rid of a few apps that I don't use.

Got rid of "office jerk" "fat booth" and "Drag Race" today and it seems to help. Drag Race was causing problems for my friend (works at Best Buy Mobile) and it seemed to help today. I got 3 reboots after drag race updated.
It is now 0936 and no more reboots....I did get rid of a few apps that I don't use.
