I think it is difficult to clone a digital signal. I worked for Sprint in the past (I left several years ago) security was a selling point for digital (how difficult it was to clone). I do not know if this is made any easier by having that information available to the shady person in question. I also know technology has come a long long long long long long long way since the days when we were impressed by the first camera phone and colored screen.
