Help Droid DNA needs downgrade...

aj18102

Lurker
I cannot find any support to downgrade my phone. Verizon snuck the download as I was sleeping and I apparently have "kit Kat" now and not all my apps works anymore. I've tried HTCDEV, SDK and such but I can't stock rom my phone or switch back to "jelly bean."

RUU_DLX_WL_JB_45_VERIZON_WWE_1.15.605.4_Radio_1.00.00.1023_3_NV_VZW_1.98_002_release_290923_signed.exe

this is the RUU that I found that matched my search but I get the 155 error because it doesn't match the hboot version (?)

If you can guide me, I would really appreciate it, thank you very much.

I agree with hilmar2k. There's no going back. When the Thunderbolt got updated, it really messed up most phones. The phone couldn't handle the upgraded Android. Everyone was stuck. Mine ran so slow, it might as well been a brick. I convinced Verizon to move up my anniversary date so I could get a new phone.

Is it me or has this KitKat upgrade been fraught with pitfalls? There's been a definite uptick in the number of issues people are having… and other handsets seem to suffer problems when they get the update as well.

I've noticed that my battery life is much worse now, and GPS randomly quits working until I reboot the phone. Some minor little things are also broke, like the inability to turn off the lock screen, or my gallery app's "share" button being broke (sharing works from the overview menu and in other photo apps.)

I feel like someone really cut corners to get this update out, even though it's been delayed a bunch of times.

I saw someplace they are trying to get 4.4.3 done and out to fix most of these known issues. Hope it dose not take forever like this update. About ready to sledge hammer test the DNA! Grrr....

At lest I'm not getting the error messages I was getting before so that is a plus for 4.4.2 :)

On the plus side, us getting the update has really ticked off the Samsung owners and for some reason I take small joy in that.

I am sorry if this isn't the right thread for this, but I have not been able to download part two of the update. My wife finished part two on her phone the other morning. I keep getting "Out of cache space" when I 'Check New' under 'Software Update.' I've deleted a bunch of apps that I no longer use, moved all of my pictures off of my phone, and just manually cleared the cache on all of the remaining apps. And still, it persists. Anybody have an idea of what is going on here? Is a FDR going to be my only option?

I have found that 100%-50% is pretty quick and then 50%-10% takes forever. I still get about 32-36 hours with my habits (pre/post upgrade) but the battery meter is a bit screwy.

I rescind my above comments. Same use, same stuff and now I can barely get 20 hours out of the phone. I turn off WiFi and it goes forever. Something seems to be screwy with WiFi. Onboard stats show the phone is mostly asleep.

What are your wifi settings?

What are your wifi settings?

Not sure what to say but Ill give what I think you are asking for.

Notify Me = OFF
Keep WiFi on during sleep = Always
Scanning always available = Unchecked
WiFi frequency band = Auto
WiFi optimization = Checked
DNLA auto IP = unchecked

Sometimes when I text now, there is no send button. GPS is screwy, and the phone now seems very laggy. Time to start shopping for a new phone.

I have been having issues with lag, slow connection, battery usage off the chart etc.

What I have been noticing is that Googe PLAY services (GCMservice included) have been chewing the phone up. I hand kill those services and the phone comes back to life.

I have to kill the services about twice a day and its clear to me when I need to do it as the phone gets goofy for lack of a better word. I really wish Google would allow to disable this especially for older platforms. All it does is make me dislike Google services as I can't control my phone as I see fit.
