Help Droid does everything but corporate email?

Thanks for confirming that...for now I'm using IMAP for corp email and Outlook to google calendar sync, and I've decided to wait until 2.1 in January to see if the native exchange support is updated to support pin, etc. If that isn't forthcoming I may move to Touchdown.

What I don't like about using Touchdown is the separation it will require - I use calwidget now to show my calendar info on my home screen. I have a feeling I'll lose that capability with Touchdown...unless they provide widgets?
 
Touchdown provides widgets for not only your calendar also your email inbox. although the inbox seem to be only for unread messages. I personally have the calendar widget which shows more details than the out of the box widget. I also created a shortcut to my inbox on the homescreen so it looks like the envelope like my other inbox shortcuts (gmail).
 
Just played with touchdown to see what it was like and it couldn't pull down any folders/email/calendar,etc. I found several of what look like errors in the log, labeled "false", as in: "DeviceEncryptionEnabled: false" related to lack of encryption of the device and the SD card, lack of encrypted SMIME support, and when I try to update active sync status I get a status not found error and security policies aren't updated.

Looks like Touchdown isn't going to do it for me...seems like I may need provisioning supported natively by the phone for this to work...

OK...so maybe that's not it, those are the same messages I had...so either they aren't error messages, or they aren't critical to functioning. Or maybe they aren't critical to your setup but are in my company's environment?

Your company requires PIN, remote wipe, and signature, right?

I tried quick config and it failed, and manual config also wouldn't work (as I described above) so I'm going to talk to some "techies" at work and see if I can figure out what's going on. Thanks for posting your log info.
 
there is a way to add a non google account what you do is open your apps then touch the email widget and create your other emails that are non gmail if that helps out
 
Hi everyone. I'm probably a future Droid owner, but I have a great doubt that I would like if someone could help me with. I'm using a Windows mobile phone, and I syncronize all my email folders perfectly with Outlook 2007. I want to know if Android has an app o program that syncronizes email folders apart from the calendar, contacts, tasks and notes. I've been reading for a couple of days diferent forums, apps markets, etc., but I really can't find this. Thanks for your possible help. Roman.
 
I have been using the Droid's standard email app since I bought it. It works great for Exchange email, contacts and calendar syncing. It syncs folders and even syncs my RSS feeds.

In addition I have two other personal pop accounts set up through it, Comcase and Yahoo. I am not syncing anything other than email with them.

My company uses Exchange 2003. We also added SSL for mobile phones since that became prevalent. We are on a domain, so for a user name you need to use domain\user name.

I have never had a problem with it. I have even had to replace the phone when an OTA update didn't work. Just set it up the account on the new phone and every thing started syncing.:D
 
Can someone explain how to use the Touchdown Contact info for Caller ID...the default for the Droid X is to of course search the native contact list.

Haven't talked with you in awhile! At the risk of stating the obvious, have you tried discussing your issues with the Nitrodesk devs by posting it on their TD forum? ND provides, without a doubt, the most responsive support I've ever seen for a smartphone app. They also post beta versions on their website much more frequently than Market version updates, so if you have a problem you'll often have a fix available in the next beta within a day or two. Often, they'll ask you to forward a complete TD diagnostic log directly so they can analyze what's going on. Since TD does appear to support the features you need, it may be just a case of working out some installation-specific bugs or enhancements for you.
