Droid does not like fog/moisture!!! Help!

So I was walking the track outside for about an hour and it was pretty foggy and I had the droid in my hand the whole time so it was exposed to the fog. When I think about it now that was probably stupid but I never dreamed fog would have such an effect. After I got inside about thirty minutes later (Nothing happened in the fog mind you), the you tube app opened and when I went to press the home button it would press the play/ pause button and would not exit and then I turned the phone to silent and it started blasting the video at full volume while on silent? It would not return home or let me press any button and then it decided to open the camera and auto focus like 8 times and then back to you tube and played some very random video I have never seen or searched for and then back to the camera back and forth. I had a body glove case and I do not like ripping it off a lot so it took me a while to get to the battery. I tried to hold down the button to shut down but that would reopen the you tube app and hit play/pause like a person on cocaine!! Also after I finally got the battery pulled and restarted my email accounts have been erased and I can not set it back up! It keeps saying free yahoo users do not have access!@!@@@ I had yahoo this whole time since launch day!! Well any help on this freak out is appreciated and also it is fine now two days later so maybe it dried out? Also nothing else erased except for the email accounts with both g-mail and yahoo! So I am asking for help and offering this as a warning to fellow users. Sorry for the long post but I am a wordy person lol! :D

Well, fog is moisture, electronics greatest enemy..keep battery out and let dry in some dry rice or get some silica packets and keep it around the phone too to absorb the moisture. Pure water on an unpowered device is not too bad, but ipods, phones, etc are almost always on when they get wet. try it for a few days and resist the urge to power it up.

Do you know what the wetness sticker is supposed to look like? I never really looked at it before but I hope it is not turned lol.

I managed to drop mine in the front yard snow bank a couple days ago. It was about 3-4 hours later when I realized Droid had gone missing. Cordless phone in hand I scoured the premises like I was hunting down a lost gerbil. Finally heard it responding out in the front yard covered in 20" snow. Took it inside and brushed off the snow. Then a wipe down with Turkish towel. Works fine, none the worse for wear. Phew!!!

Don't use a hair dryer, the heat is not good for the phone.

Totally agreed.

Put the phone in a jar with uncooked Minute Rice in it. Seal the jar and leave it in there for a day. The rice will absorb the moisture.

I'm dead serious about this.

Thank you for the quick replies! I have seen the rice thing and I think my Droid has finally dried out! Oh and I would have a heart attack if I realized I had lost my Droid lol. I would have been calling too lol. Glad it was OK

When I go skiing I put my phone in a sealed plastic sandwich bag. Keeps moisture from my body, or the environment, from getting into the phone.

Trying to avoid this problem I used alcohol to flush dirt from between
the keyboard and screen.
Turns out the alcohol is 30% deionozed water.
Droid freaked. I removed the battery and suspended. The phone
above a
60 watt light bulb overnight. About 8 inches. It was warm but not hot.
Works fine now.
I do have moistue stains on the inside of the glass screen.
I'd like to clean them but can't figure out how to get to them.

Love this droid!!!!

whenever I get a piece of electronics I keep those little desiccate bags that come with it. I now have a collection that fills a cereal bowl and I keep them around for these exact emergencies. I revived an iPod using them that was soked. main key is to NOT try to use it to early. FULLY let it dry for days.
