Root Droid downgrade 2.2.1 to 2.2?

I have a Moto Droid. My friend at work "borrowed" my phone and gave it back to me rooted. Now, I'm not techie oor anything. So, after I got used to the rooted features, the ota update to 2.2.1 came out and automatically updated, which made those features unusable. I tried to use super one click to root 2.2.1 and nothing happened so I just want to go back to 2.2 but I have no clue how. Can anyone walk me through or give advise?

RSD Lite back to rooted 2.1 with SPRecovery, then use ROM Manager to install ClockworkMod and download a nice 2.2.1-based rooted ROM like the latest CyanogenMod.

It's part of his signature. Every one of his posts has that quote in it.
