Help Droid Eris won't power on all the way

My HTC Eris' battery went dead last night. I plugged it into the charger and tried to restart it, but it won't go past the Verizon Wireless screen. I've tried removing the battery numerous times, but it still won't go past that screen. Any suggestions?

Sorry to see you have an issue with your Eris. I'm wondering if you tried to reboot the device right after plugging in the charging cable rather than waiting for the unit to regain some charge for at least a half-hour or so.

I'd remove the battery, then put it back in and charge it up fully. Then I'd try to power it up.

If you mean that the problem occurred following a full charge, you may need to try the battery pull again, but being sure to wait a full minute before putting it back in.

If that does not help, rooting the device can fix it. Check out this sticky thread:
