Help Droid going crazy! Help!!!

My Droid is a year old and all of a sudden, the phone is going crazy... It will boot up fine and you can run without issue for a couple of minutes then the programs start reacting as if the touch screen is recieving continuous input and the phone becomes unresponsive. Tried several soft resets without success. What can I do?

My phone started doing the very same thing about two weeks ago. First it started as just a finicky screen then progressed to exactly what you described; the screen reacting as if it was receiving continuous input. I have no idea how to fix. @Johlgalt, no I am not rooted. Oddly enough this started after the last update.

Both of you = remove the battery from the DROID and leave it out for 10 minutes

Don't try to think that 5 minutes is long enough - leave it out the entire time. Then put the battery back in and do not turn it on. Plug in a charger and let it turn on, and do not do anything with it for about 30 minutes

Then see what happens.

You might have hardware issues then. I can't really think why this is happening, but if you're interested, and not rooted (although this does not matter, but if you *are* rooted then you'll need to root again after performing this step), and can perform these steps, you might want to revert to a newly installed Stock ROM using the instructions in http://androidforums.com/droid-all-things-root/136508-guide-all-things-root-related.html specifically under the section How to revert back to Stock 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.1, or 2.2 (this would be to eliminate that it might be something that is already on your phone, such as a malicious application).

Thanks for the help. I tried a hard reset first. That didnt cure it so I gave up and had Verizon send me a new phone. They were pretty nice about it which surprised me. I thought Id get a bigger fight out of them.
