Droid GPS tweaks?

Sometimes when I bring up Latitude on Google Maps, it shows me blocks off from where I am actually at. I have a feeling there is a setting that isn't right on the phone. Any tips on what settings should/should not be enabled to get accurate GPS?

I've also noticed sometimes while in my house, it can't locate me on GPS (which affects my Settings Profiles profiles....) Is this a limitation of GPS inside my house? No way around this?

if you run maps with setting to allow gps unchecked (in settings), the map app will just use cellular location. If gps is allowed, then the maps app will use the gps. when gps is being used by an application, the satellite dish thingy will appear in the notification bar.

How big is the blue circle around you? If it's big, then you're using cell towers (it just knows the radius it broadcasts. So if you pick up the signal, you must be in that radius). If it's small, it's GPS.

in the last few days my Droid has listed me as being in the middle of the Hudson Bay while I'm in the middle of a big city on the east coast. i understand the skyscrapers may cause a problem but being off by that much is bizarre.
