Droid holster

Does anyone know if using a BB belt holster that has that magnetic flap to keep it closed will affect the touchscreen on the Motorola Droid? :eek:
 
At work I've seen numerous issues with magnetic flaps on Jack phones from AT&T.

The magnet causes dropped calls. If you experience anything like that, i.e your phone rings, you pull the phone out and the call is gone, that would likely be the culprit.

Of course, I'm more likely leaning to the fact that it is the shitty AT&T network at fault there. (Signal not strong enough etc)
 
I cut the magnets out of my droid holster and glued in some velcro because the magnets turned the phone screen on every time I put it in.
 
I tried a couple of different holsters that used magnets - and both went back. Had a nicer one from BestBuy that had 2 sets instead of 1 set of magnets, and it still was enabling my phone at inopportune times.

I decided to go with the holster from Verizon when I got the MM Dock, and I just take the back off when I use the car Dock or the MM Dock.
 
I just purchased the Seidio Spring Clip Holster. I have the Verizon Shell/Holster combo, but I don't like it for several reasons:

  • Adds too much bulk to the phone
  • Makes the top button hard to push
  • Have to remove the back to snap the Droid into the Car mount
  • The belt clip seems to poke me in the gut a lot more than my old Blackberry one did.

Anyone else try this one?

My Seidio holster showed up and it is very nice. It's lined with soft fabric so the screen goes against it when it's in the holster. The holster rotates on the belt clip so I can keep it sideways -- doesn't poke me in the gut the way the Verizon one did. I'm pretty pleased with it so far (just got it today).
 
I bought a holster at walmart for $9.50 that does a great job. I make sure I put the face towards the front and mine never turns on in the holster. Cant beat it for $9.50. Wish I would have remembered the name on the package. There is nothing on the holster itself. Clip swivels on belt so phone can be horizontal or vertical.
 
Anyone else find any holsters that don't make the phone go into the docking station setting? Links, brands? I would really like to find one that is a leather holster.
