That's bad new Rawlings. It sounds like your cache got hosed. First thing I'd do is boot into recovery and under advanced, clear the Dalvik cache only, then reboot. Probably won't help, but it is worth a shot since you won't lose any data. I found out recently to run Titanium more frequently, I lost all my SMS and MMS messages and the most recent backup was from January, luckily, there was nothing I got between the backup and when I lost my messages that I needed.

Thanks, I'll try it and see what happens.

Edit: No joy, as expected.

Yep, still running SkyRaider. Haven't had any problems with it except for the messags thing last week. Really haven't had much time to mess with new ROMs.

I've been thinking about trying a Sense 2.0 ROM, but I'm not sure I want to go with a ROM coming from a different phone.

I have thought about it also, but like I said, I've not had much time lately to mess with new ROMS. Back when I was running FrankenROM I didn't have any issues with it. Granted, the EVO and Incredible are so similar, it wasn't too much of a stretch. I did try a Liquid Sense ROM a while back, it still needed work, but it was pretty cool. I haven't been following the Sense 2.0 ROMS so don't know how far they have come.

So sorry Rawlings. When the phone goes tits up no matter the rom or hardware it's a big bummer. I hope you don't loose too much in rebuilding.

Well, turns out my last nandroid was the one I made right before going to Skyraider. :( That's a little ways back. I finally got all of the apps updated in the market and restored missing apps and data with Titanium. The only thing I've found missing so far is my Angry Birds Rio data. Bummer to have to do it all again. :( Oh well.

Since I'm now left with the choice of ROMing again or staying stock, I think I may try out a Z ROM to see what the big deal is with sense 2.0, though I may end up back with Skyraider after all is said and done. I think I'm also going to try and setup a weekly recurring backup with titanium, that way I won't lose quite so much.

Ah the joys of smartphones! ;):p

Good morning guys. Anybody have big plans for the weekend? It's going to be nice here.. first weekend in quite a few that's supposed to be warm. That's my cue to do my initial tilling of my garden. I'm moving it back to where I had it a few decades ago. The ground has been in bermuda all these years. Wish me luck in getting it into some sort of shape again. I'm also running an irrigation line out there.. adding it onto my sprinkler system. That will be an adventure as well lol.. but, will make having the garden out there so much easier. Once it's tilled I'll be putting up a bunny fence around it. Rabbits are lousy here and seem to love my garden stuff. It's a good thing I love gardening.. I'll be worn out long before I plant lol.

Glad you had fun. Planning in 3 weeks to take my son to Disney world. Going to kill that mouse and take his girl.

Haven't made it that far yet. Still sitting on stock from the rebuild at the moment.

Morning all. How was everyone's weekend? Started snowing Saturday evening and didn't stop unitl about 8 last night. Lovely spring weather:rolleyes:

Morning guys.

That whole tracking root users would suck. I sure hope it doesn't come to fruition.

I was looking at ROM Manager and noticed that there's a listing for Skyraider 4.0 sneak peek. Is that an April fools day joke, or did the dev change his mind about quitting? Or I guess he could have passed the reins to someone else. Anybody know?

Personally, I don't care if VZW tracks wheter or not I am rooted, as long as my service continues to be what I am paying for. I don't think it should matter to them one way or the other as long as my use of the device on their network is in accordance with my service agreement. With that said, there are those in the community who use the device in violation of the TOS (they don't even have to be rooted to do this, BTW). It is partly in response to these that these policies are appearing, along with those that "brick" their phone then get a warranty replacement. If I brick my phone through my rooting and/or flashing, I'm at fault and they should not have to bear the cost of replacement.

SkyRaider4.0 is supposed to be his last release. Someone may pick it up, but I've not seen anything along those lines.

amen sir i couldn't have said it better and the even more messed up things with the data tracking and tethering you don't need root access and their are approved paid apps in the market if this whole thing is about data consumption then go after the developers of those apps not those that use those apps or the end user in general cuz in the long run its them who will hurt... and even if this does come to us i d c i will still root my phone its MY DEVICE I PAID FOR IT... /end rant

Evening friends. I'm not rooted but.. I can't imagine what can be gained by tracking those that are. VZW needs to grow up.

The only thing they can really use it for is to Overcharge us for already overpriced data plans ... and for those who don't use theathering then its puts between a rock and a hrd place too

You really think this is true? SOmething this big and the only posting is a DEV that has a moment of clarity over what he has done through out the years? I see it as a rumor or a big day after april fools joke. Why havent we seen anything on and of the tech news sites? I think verizon could just look at your phone system info to see if your rooted or not. Google could look in to your market account and see what apps you have for use with rooting and the wireless tether. You really think they need to push a OTA to see which phones are rooted and which is not?

I will wait till I see more hard evidence than a guy that says hey I heard this through the grapevine.

Not knowing a damn thing about it... why would they go to any effort to track the rooted anyway??? I think it's bs. on that note I'm off to bed. Have a good one.
